BBC Scotland podcast explores real-life dating stories and dilemmas

BBC Scotland is launching a new podcast, Situationships with Sophie and Christine hosted by best-selling author Sophie Gravia and TV personality Christine McGuinness.

The podcast will explore dating dilemmas, personal relationships and the challenges of modern romance.

Real-life stories will feature as well as honest conversations from the hosts about their own experiences. Each episode will also include advice and input from the audience.

Sophie Gravia, known for her popular novels and blog Sex in the Glasgow City, brings her background as a writer and NHS nurse to the podcast. Christine McGuinness, who recently presented the BBC One documentary Unmasking My Autism, offers a personal perspective on dating, parenting and navigating relationships.

Sophie says: “Fronting this podcast alongside Christine is an absolute dream. Just like a girls’ night in, no topic is off limits, and we will be diving headfirst into the comedy, chaos and sometimes downright cringe of dating.

“I cannot wait to chat through our own outrageous stories together and of course hear the dating dilemmas sent in by listeners.”

Christine added: “I am so excited to be hosting this podcast with Sophie. It’ll be real, raw and, most importantly, judgement-free. We’ll be chatting all things love, relationships, and everything in between.”

The show was commissioned by BBC Scotland’s Heather Kane Darling, who says: “We are delighted to be bringing this brand-new podcast to audiences across the UK.

“Sophie and Christine are the perfect duo to take audiences through the highs and lows of relationships and dating. Everyone’s welcome in Club Situationships!”

The series is fully visualised and will be available on BBC Sounds, BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer from 19 June.
