BBC Sounds Podcast Diddy on Trial goes to New York as the case begins

As the historic trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs begins, the BBC Sounds podcast Diddy on Trial will be in New York cover every important moment.

From Monday 12 May, journalist and host Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty will report on the latest courtroom revelations straight from Manhattan.

After nearly eight months behind bars in one of America’s most notorious prisons, Diddy stands accused of sex trafficking, transportation for prostitution and racketeering with conspiracy – charges he fiercely denies.

This case has rocked Hollywood, with A-list names caught in the fallout. Diddy has been denied bail three times and has been refused a request to delay the start of the trial.

Since its launch in November 2024, Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty has been the voice behind the Diddy on Trial podcast.

Now she’ll be on the ground in New York – and with the help of a range of contributors – breaking down key testimony, legal strategy, behind-the-scenes moments, and the bigger questions the trial raises about power, celebrity, and accountability.

From Friday 16 May, the podcast will also be available to watch with a weekly episode streaming on BBC iPlayer and BBC World Service YouTube.
