Law&Crime is launching the latest instalment of its hit trial-focused podcast slate with Karen: The Retrial.
Hosted by Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Kristin Thorne, the series will build upon the expert analysis of Law&Crime’s original series, Karen. It will continue to unpack the mysterious death of Boston police officer John O’Keefe.
The eight-part series will delve deeper into controversial accusations of corruption that continue to plague a small New England town in the aftermath of the arrest and mistrial of the victim’s girlfriend, Karen Read.
Season one covered Read’s 2024 trial, during which she captivated social media and gained overwhelming support as a potentially framed martyr battling head-to-head against a powerful Massachusetts family.
Now, Law&Crime’s team is back with Karen: The Retrial to further explore the case’s intrigue, following both the prosecution and defence as they try to forge new evidentiary strategies and regain control of the high-profile courtroom.
The new series provides a detailed analysis of the tense legal battle between the prosecution and defence over evidence in both the first and second trials.
Through key interviews with legal analysts, attorneys, and others close to the case, the series paints the picture of a town on the edge as it anticipates round two of what has now become the most infamous case in its recent history.
The first two episodes of Karen: The Retrial will launch on 28 April, and can be accessed on the Law&Crime library HERE only on Wondery+.
Law&Crime is also providing coverage of MA v. Karen Read on its YouTube channel.
