Bisexual Brunch named as top British LGBT podcast in new ranking

The Bisexual Brunch podcast has been named as the number one LGBT podcast in Britain and top bi podcast worldwide.

From UK independent radio production company Made in Manchester, the show is hosted by broadcaster and journalist Ashley Byrne alongside leading bi activist Lewis Oakley and actor and comedian Samantha Baines.

The ranking from the podcast aggregator FeedSpot placed Bisexual Brunch at number six of the best 100 LGBT podcasts worldwide. With only two bisexual podcasts on the top 100 list, and the other at number 60, it means the Bisexual Brunch is the top exclusively bisexual podcast globally.

In the UK only study, the show is listed as number one of the top 25 LGBT podcasts ahead of all the other types of LGBT podcasts. The list includes only two exclusively bisexual podcasts, with the other one coming in at around number 20.

The study by FeedSpot looked at ‘the best LGBT podcasts from thousands of podcasts on the web, ranked by relevancy, authority, social media followers and freshness’.

Each episode of Bisexual Brunch lasts several hours, providing discussion and entertainment about all things bi and pan. There’s always a unique bi journey story from either a bi person or their partner as well as features and special guests from around the world.

Actor Tom Ward-Thomas joins each show to review bisexual coverage (or the chronic lack of it) on film or TV.

Show founder, co presenter and producer Ashley Byrne says: “Not a week goes by when we don’t get bi or pan people from somewhere in the world opening up to us emotionally and telling us how the show has changed their lives and literally helped them to understand who they really are.

“Bi-erasure and biphobia is rife in the straight and gay world and we’re providing a rare voice for a growing number of people who are finally embracing their bisexuality.”

Fellow Bisexual Brunch founder and leading Bi activist and broadcaster Lewis Oakley says: “We started the show as a response to the lack of attention bisexual people and bi-specific topics receive in the mainstream. It’s fantastic to see it doing so well.

“My hope is that the success of this podcast inspires others to ask themselves what they’re doing to help bisexual people feel represented and to ensure they at least begin to address bisexual issues and topics in 2025. Clearly, they’re missing a trick.”

Bisexual Brunch is available on all podcast platforms.
