Comic Relief is launching its first ever podcast in collaboration with Amazon Music, IT’S MY PARTY hosted by comedian Catherine Bohart.
With Comic Relief celebrating its 40th birthday this year and Red Nose Day happening in just two weeks, the celebrations will kick of with the new 12-episode weekly podcast.
The series will feature celebrities planning their perfect birthday parties, sharing everything from their dream guest lists to their party playlists, dress codes, themes, and even snack choices.
Guests on the show include Nish Kumar, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Lenny Henry, Gabrielle and Jameela Jamil – with the first episode featuring the iconic duo from the ‘Help I Sexted My Boss’ podcast, Jordan North and William Hanson.
Any amounts received by Comic Relief via advertising revenues could help support families affected by conflict here in the UK and around the world.
Catherine Bohart said: “I’m so excited for everyone to hear this podcast. I love our guests, I love parties, I love talking parties – the strategy, the planning, the rules, the themes – I love it all!
“Comic Relief was such a significant part of my childhood, I have such clear memories of those nights of television giving me a new perspective on such important things but also being so full of joy at the same time, so to be part of it all this year is meaningful, and it feels really special.
“It also means that I can be really nosey with celebs in the name of Comic Relief, so, that’s nice!”
Samir Patel, CEO of Comic Relief, added: “As we celebrate Comic Relief’s 40th birthday, we’re so excited to launch IT’S MY PARTY in partnership with our friends at Amazon Music.
“This fun new podcast gives listeners a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the ultimate celebrity party plans, all while helping raise money for the incredible projects that change lives.
We’re proud to carry on bringing people together through laughter and celebration, and we hope this series makes everyone feel good while supporting our mission to make a real difference.”
IT’S MY PARTY is produced by Audio Always and will be available on Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts, weekly from Wednesday 12 March.
