Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival returns with big name guests

Some of the UK’s biggest comedy pods will be performing live at the Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival, which returns to London this autumn.

From 31 October to 5 November, the Cheeful Earful Podcast Festival with adelicious takes place across multiple venues run by leading London pub group, Three Cheers Pub Co., who regularly host some of London’s most popular comedy nights.

Alongside headliners The Joe Marler Show with Joe Marler and Tom Fordyce, and Socially Distanced Sports Bar with Elis James, Mike Bubbins and Steff Garrero, will be live shows from, Nobody Panic (Tessa Coates, Stevie Martin), Cuddle Club (Lou Sanders) and A Gay and Non-Gay (James Barr, Dan Hudson).

Guests from the world of British comedy and beyond will be joining the festival, including viral star Matt Green, freestyle rapper Abandoman and Jenny Eclair.

The festival also includes a lineup of up-and-coming comedy podcasts, showcased on the Listen Up stage, which this year includes Sequel Pitch and Born Yesterday.

Festival founder Giles Gear said: “Cheerful Earful is a joyous celebration of the podcasts that keep us entertained and laughing week-in, week-out. As well as showcasing some of the country’s most popular pods, it’s a platform for smaller shows to connect with a new audience and grow.

“We are also indebted to Adelicious, our lead media partner, for their continued support of festival, which allows us to keep it free to perform for all the shows as well as our venue partner, the Three Cheers Pub Co., who backed us from the beginning!”

Tom Peake, co-owner and founder of Three Cheers Pub Co adds: “Providing excellent comedy shows is key at Three Cheers Pub Co. We loved the originality of a comedy podcast festival and can’t wait to host such a fabulous line up across our venues”.
