Joe Cole is launching a new football podcast from New York during this summer’s World Cup tournament.
Could It Be Coming Home? is a spin off from the FA Cup podcast Could It Be Magic?, which featured Joe alongside former England and Chelsea teammate Ashley Cole across two series.
The new show will be recorded on location in New York City, with Joe hosting post match discussions and interviews with football figures as the tournament takes place across North America.
Joe won 56 England caps and scored ten international goals between 2001 and 2010. The new series is being backed by Carling and will feature football themed segments, guest interviews and conversations centred around the tournament.
Produced by Platform Media, Could It Be Magic? generated 46 million views across its first two seasons, providing a platform for the launch of the new show.
Joe said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to bring the podcast back for this Stateside spin-off. Being out in New York while the tournament happens across North America is a special experience.
“With both England and Scotland in the mix, the stakes are massive and the atmosphere over here is going to be electric.”
The podcast will also be supported by a social first campaign, including a dedicated social content series and distribution of short form clips through football and sports communities online.
Ryan Mclaughlin, Brand Director for Carling, said: “Following the massive success of Could It Be Magic?, we are absolutely thrilled to partner with Joe once again for Could It Be Coming Home?
“At Carling we live and breathe football and have been standing on the sidelines, shoulder to shoulder with fans for over 30 years.”
Could It Be Coming Home? launches on 20 June and will continue throughout July. Episodes will be available on YouTube, Spotify and podcast platforms.
