Flame Tree Publishing launches the Myth & Fiction Podcast

The Myth & Fiction Podcast is being launched by Flame Tree Publishing to showcase its authors, and pair them with timeless narratives from classic authors.

Released weekly, each half-hour episode will feature two short stories (science fiction, fantasy, horror and the supernatural, ancient tales, myth and folklore) with new writing from the publisher’s short story collections, and classic adventures from the imaginations from Poe, Lovecraft and more.

Plus, every month, special episodes with exclusive author interviews and behind-the-scenes insights into the book industry, will also be released.

The first episode, ‘From Clockwork to Cloning’, explores our evolving relationship with technology. It features The Dancing Partner by Jerome K. Jerome, a classic story from the Robots & Artificial Intelligence collection, alongside Skinprint by Antonia Rachel Ward, an original tale from Learning to Be Human.

Other episodes include ‘Gothic Haunts’ and ‘Sounds of the Supernatural’, both steeped in gothic horror in classic Flame Tree style.

The first monthly special features an in-depth conversation with editors Patrick Parrinder and Emelyne Godfrey on The Open Heart, a recent collection of Catherine Wells’ writing, recorded at the London Book Fair.

Nick Wells, publisher of Flame Tree, says: “We love storytelling in its many forms, so the new podcast reflects our ever-growing work with authors, expanding into new worlds from the foundations of the familiar, building timeless narratives from fresh perspectives, and encouraging writers by offering new markets for their work.”

Hosted by Olivia, Bea and Nick, episode one of the Myth & Fiction Podcast will be available on Tuesday 6 May on all podcast platforms.
