New podcast episodes and history series are being released across History Hit’s network throughout April.
The schedule places a strong focus on podcast content, with multiple series and single episodes rolling out across shows including Dan Snow’s History Hit, The Ancients, Gone Medieval and Betwixt the Sheets.
Dan Snow’s Complete Guide to The Crusades runs across three Wednesdays in April, charting key moments from the capture of Jerusalem to the final siege of Acre.
A separate episode on 13 April explores Eleanor of Aquitaine, with historian Eleanor Janega joining Dan to examine her influence on medieval Europe.
The Ancients marks Easter with an episode on Judas Iscariot, released on 5 April, while a later show on 26 April explores the final days of Pompeii. Both episodes are hosted by Tristan Hughes and focus on how historical narratives have been shaped over time.
Gone Medieval releases two episodes during the month, including Legends of Richard the Lionheart on 10 April and How to Win a Medieval Tournament on 28 April.
Betwixt the Sheets also features a special episode on 23 April, where Kate Lister tours a Marie Antoinette exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Across the wider network, Not Just the Tudors includes episodes on Lady Jane Grey and Grace O’Malley, while After Dark runs a four-part series with historian Gareth Russell covering topics from Henry VIII to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
Alongside podcasts, History Hit’s streaming service features new programmes including Bunkers: The Hidden Battle of Britain on 9 April and The Ambassadors: A Tudor Enigma on 16 April. A collection of films tied to William Shakespeare’s anniversary is also available.
