How To Be Fine – With Friends podcast tackles loneliness with unique twist

Kristen Meinzer and Jolenta Greenberg, acclaimed hosts formerly of the By The Book podcast, are launching a new season, How To Be Fine – With Friends.

As summer approaches and social activities ramp up, not everyone finds themselves with plans and companionship. The podcast will explore and test a variety of friend-making strategies.

In 2021, 12% of Americans reported having no close friends, highlighting a widespread “pandemic of loneliness”.

In this new series, Kristen and Jolenta aim to bridge this gap by diving into both traditional and modern methods of building friendships from volunteering and using apps like Bumble BFF to participating in unique social experiments like Jon Levy’s Influencer Dinner.

How To Be Fine – With Friends is not your typical interview podcast. Each episode sees the hosts putting different friend-making methods to the test, acting as guinea pigs in their own social experiments. This hands-on approach allows listeners to learn what might work for them in real-time, providing both entertainment and practical advice.

The season will also feature conversations with renowned “friendship experts” such as Dr Marisa Franco, author of Platonic: How the Science of Attachment Can Help You Make – and Keep – Friends, Jennie Allen, author of Find Your People: Building Deep Community in a Lonely World, and Shasta Nelson, author of Friendships Don’t Just Happen!: The Guide to Creating a Meaningful Circle of Girl Friends.

Kristen Meinzer says: “In a world where many feel isolated, we’re excited to explore and share effective, sometimes surprising ways to make and deepen friendships. We believe that everyone can find something that works for them, and we’re here to help guide the way.”

How To Be Fine – With Friends will be available on all podcast platforms from 13 June.
