India Amarteifio stars in Joe Sugg’s Username Resurgent podcast
A new Audible Original, Username: Resurgent, is set in the world of the best-selling Username graphic novel series by digital creator and social media star, Joe Sugg.
The series begins with sixteen-year-old Serena Hall, played by India Amarteifo, who is in turmoil after her older brother, Silas, played by Kit Young, disappears on his twentieth birthday.
When the police call off the search for him, Serena sets out to find the truth behind her brother’s disappearance and it changes her life forever.
She begins her investigation by starting her own true-crime podcast and finds herself in a world she never knew existed, a world of supernatural urban legend and global internet mythology. The series also stars Ruth Wilson playing Violet Hall and Sean Delaney as DI Warren.
Across 10 episodes, the series follows Serena as she transforms from teenager to investigator, as her relentless determination to find out the truth lands her face to face with a malevolent digital entry known only as The Angel of E.Scape.
The podcast features a full Dolby Atmos mix with original music by Mercury Prize and Emmy nominated composer, Hannah Peel.
Joe Sugg said: “It was brilliant to jump back into the ‘Username’ world and take the story to new places in audio.
“The graphic novel trilogy serves as the backstory for the podcast series, but ‘Username: Resurgent’ is its own mystery audio-thriller that anyone can enjoy, whether you’ve read the previous novels, or not.
“It’s been such a brilliant experience for me to not only write for audio, but to explore exec-producing a podcast drama, as well as acting in one for the first time. The cast are amazing, and I’ve loved hearing this story come to life and hope listeners enjoy it just as much as I have.”
Username: Resurgent is available from today, 9 November exclusively on Audible.
