Jamie Laing launches new podcast Great Company with guest YUNGBLUD
BBC Radio 1 DJ and podcaster, Jamie Laing and his production company, JamPot Productions have launched a brand-new podcast, Great Company.
The podcast will feature a diverse range of guests from the realms of entertainment, culture, and sports, with the first being the multi-award-winning musician YUNGBLUD.
He talks about topics including insomnia, the difference between Dominic and YUNGBLUD, his upcoming album, the fear of abandonment, bringing his taxi driver into the studio, the consequences of fame, his struggles with food, going to America with £60 and signing to Interscope Records and leaving with £80k as well as the label pressure to deliver and being considered too political for the UK.
He also talks about launching BLUDFEST, his make a friend tent and creating a space where people can truly be themselves, reaching out to The Cure, Blondie and The Smashing Pumpkins for a potential icon slot at the festival.
Elsewhere, he discusses his experience of fans in Latin America and struggles with mental health, contemplating suicide and his love for Justin Bieber.
Othe confirmed guests for the series include comedian Jo Brand, chart-topping singer-songwriters Paloma Faith and Zara Larsson, the host of The Repair Shop Jay Blades, YouTube sensations Ali Abdaal and Casper Lee, broadcaster Elizabeth Day, magician Dynamo, American model Crystal Hefner, fashion guru Trinny Woodall, and writer Robin Sharma, among others.
Jamie says, “I realise that the reason I love podcasts so much is because they’re just a great way to connect with people. In a world where it’s easy to feel alone, listening to people is a way to feel a bit less alone.
“So, that’s what I really wanted to create. A space to share, to be inspired, to be moved, to learn, and maybe even laugh. And all I need is great guests and you, the great listener.”
