New podcast explores designing for the built environment

The Sense of Space podcast features an architect and designer on a journey to help their community understand the nuances of designing for the built environment.

Launching on the SURROUND Podcast Network, Sense of Space is hosted by Ella Hazard and Faraz Shah asking questions and having conversations while they explore all the stuff we interact with as designers, architects, and people.

The first episode meets the hosts to find out who they are. Faraz and Ella share their backgrounds, experiences, and dreams for what Sense of Space might be.

Further episodes ask questions such as:

  • What are the elements of a vibe, is it something we can curate, or is it best when it occurs organically?
  • Does nature design things? Carolyn Noble joins Faraz and Ella to discuss our relationship between the natural and built environment.
  • Is design for everyone? A conversation on our own educational experiences and the values and priorities of the next generation of designers.
  • Can sound define space and what lies beyond the sense of sight in the built environment.
  • Do buildings have souls, and does it start with the architecture or with the people and activities that bring a space to life?

The first episode will be available on Wednesday 6 November.
