A new podcast from digital marketing and artist development company, Blinding Talent will demystify and illuminate the complex world of music.
Hosted by the company’s founder Mark Adams, The Blinding Talent Music Industry Podcast will feature conversations with esteemed guests who discuss every corner of the labyrinthine of the music industry.
Topics covered include: What goes into making a Number One record? How does an artist go from the pub circuit to arenas nationwide? What do you need to build a fanbase in the social media era? And what even is A&R, really?
The guests will be from the world of labels, management, production, songwriting, live and media, drawing on personal experience to provide anecdotal advice and insight.
Framed as intimate one-on-one conversations that are equal parts campfire stories and practical cheat-sheets, the series offers advice on career direction, industry insight or a healthy dose of inspiration.
Host Mark Adams says: “I’ve been in the music industry for over 20 years and worked with some powerful music brands including 4Music, Kiss, Kerrang!, Spotify, YouTube and Channel 4, not to mention the many A-list artists I’ve helped along the way.
“I’m incredibly proud to share that experience and knowledge and chat to some of my favourite, and frankly, awesome industry chums about where we were, where we are and where we’re going in the world of music.”
The first guest is former MTV presenter Vanessa Warwick, with forthcoming guests including Rich Castillo (Head of A&R, Graduation), Nathan Philips (Head of A&R, Nuclear Blast Records), Jamie Osman (Real Life Management), Sarah Wilson (Head of TuneCore), Colin Barlow (Former RCA and Polydor), Sol Parker (Wasserman), and more.
