New rom-com launched based on the world of K-Pop and K-Pop idols
Koreaboo is a brand new Audible Original rom-com based on the world of K-Pop and K-Pop idols, launched today.
The podcast is full of K-Pop and South Korean music and culture, that follows a British black woman, Shayla, voiced by Susan Wokoma, on her journey of surviving, thriving and finding love in Seoul.
Across ten episodes, a series of mishaps and funny situations ensue as Shayla throws herself headfirst into a new life, grappling with family pressure, self-reflection, and discovering where her heart truly lies – with SF4’s Youngjae, or the cute boy next door.
Also starring Joomin Hwang and Daniel Henney, the series features the music of the iconic K-pop group, GOT7.
The final production, mixed in stereo, binaural and Dolby Atmos, also offers an almost continual soundtrack of music, bringing a new dimension to the audio rom-com genre and a unique listening experience.
Shenee Howard, writer and creator of Koreaboo, said: “The story of Koreaboo is first and foremost a celebration of life and culture! Adele Cutting (Koreaboo Director) has done an excellent job of keeping this at the core of the series, whilst bringing to life the content into engaging audio that is sure to make the listener both laugh and cry.”
Koreaboo, an Audible original podcast is available now (for Audible members or free with Audible’s 30-day trial).
