Racing cyclist Ryan Mullen’s new podcast on family life off the bike

Nine-time national champion and seasoned veteran of the professional peloton, Ryan Mullen offers a light-hearted, honest look at family life off the bike in a new podcast.

In the monthly podcast, I’m Not Your Soigneur! – a tongue in cheek reference to where tour life ends and family life begins – Ryan sits down with his wife Georgina to talk about the realities of life on and off the bike.

The pair explore what it takes to be a cycling champion, what it takes to be married to one and where the line between work and family life is drawn.

Presented by cycle insurance specialists, Bikmo, the series includes humorous, real and eye-opening insights into Ryan and Georgina’s lives, revealing that although the cycling world demands discipline and control, there is usually a healthy dose of chaos elsewhere!

Friends and special guests will feature in some episodes, but the first one sees Ryan and Georgina setting the scene discussing the realities of living apart for most of the year, their two-year-old son Gino, the dangers of racing and why they have decided to start the podcast.

Ryan Mullen said: “My family at home are my support system and help my ‘on-bike’ life in so many different ways that you couldn’t even imagine.

“With my career comes challenges for my little family to overcome but we do it together, usually laughing! This podcast allows me and my wife to sit down and reflect on the good, the bad and the ugly, of the life behind professional cycling.”

Angus King, Global Head of Marketing at Bikmo cycling insurance added: “We’re on a mission to protect the world’s riders so that there are more people riding bikes.

“Part of this is to promote new, engaging and different voices within the cycling community. We’re really proud to support Ryan and Georgina’s new podcast and can’t wait to hear more of their stories about what really goes on outside of the peloton!”

Produced by This is Distorted, I’m Not Your Soigneur! will be available on all podcast platforms from Wednesday 1 May.
