Red Bull’s How to Be Superhuman podcast returns for third season

Building on the success of its first two seasons, Red Bull’s How to Be Superhuman podcast has returned for its third season.

Hosted by ultra-runner Rob Pope, the first person to recreate Forrest Gump’s iconic run across the United States, the podcast dives into the astonishing stories of athletes who have defied boundaries and achieved the seemingly impossible, looking at what it takes to push the limits of human potential.

Each episode goes into the heart of these feats, to give a glimpse into what the truly extraordinary feels like, from conquering terrifying climbs and kayaking down jaw-dropping waterfalls to swimming the world’s longest rivers and embarking on solo expeditions to the most remote corners of the globe.

The half-hour episodes showcase a wide range of disciplines, voices, and stories, with guests like:

  • Explorer Preet Chandi, who set out to record the longest unsupported polar expedition, sharing her journey of persistence through injury and doubt: “I made some mistakes, got injured and fell down 14 times every hour.”
  • Paraglider Tom de Dorlodot recounting soaring past the second highest mountain on Earth in an unprecedented flight: “To be the very first human to experience this, my tears were freezing on my cheeks.”
  • Ultra-runner Tara Dower revealing how “dirt naps” helped her battle hallucinations in her bid for the gruelling Appalachian Trail speed record: “I’d take a handful of 90-second naps in the dirt throughout the day.”

Other guests include Cathy O’Dowd, the first woman to summit Everest from both sides; blind climber Jesse Dufton; and big-wave surfer Andrew Cotton.

Combining storytelling with actionable insights into resilience, motivation, and mindset to be a source of inspiration, designed to motivate and empower not just extreme athletes but anyone striving to take on challenges, big or small, and push past perceived limits.

Episode one of How To Be Superhuman is out today, 6 February with new episodes releasing every other Thursday on all podcast platforms.
