A companion podcast for Rivals will return alongside the show’s second series, offering episode-by-episode insight and cast interviews.
Disney+ has confirmed “Rivals: The Official Podcast” will launch on 15 May, in line with the new series of the drama. The podcast will again be hosted by journalist and broadcaster Pandora Sykes.
The visual podcast will feature conversations with cast members, creators and celebrity fans, focusing on the stories behind each episode as the series unfolds. It will be released throughout the run, continuing until the finale.
Pandora Sykes said: “It’s such a joy to be back hosting the Rivals Podcast. I cannot wait to dive back into the fabulous and naughty world of Rutshire.
“Join me on the podcast for all the behind-the-scenes gossip and action from the new season of Rivals.”
Each episode will explore themes from the drama, including character development and the challenges of recreating 1980s television. Guests are expected to share production insights and discuss how the source material by Dame Jilly Cooper has been adapted for screen.
The guest line-up includes David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Nafessa Williams, Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson and Danny Dyer.
Further appearances come from Victoria Smurfit, Claire Rushbrook, Oliver Chris, Lisa McGrillis, Emily Atack and Rufus Jones, among others.
Creative voices will also feature, including executive producers Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Alexander Lamb and Felicity Blunt, alongside writer Laura Wade and director Elliot Hegarty.
The podcast is produced by Platform Media and will be available on Disney+ and podcast platforms, giving audiences additional context and discussion around each episode as it airs.
