Rugby stars launch new podcast ahead of Women’s Six Nations

Women’s Rugby World Cup winner Vicky Fleetwood is teaming up with Great Britain Rugby Sevens star Ellie Boatman and broadcaster Robbie James to launch a new podcast.

Outside Centre launches ahead of the Women’s Six Nations, which kicks off on Saturday 23 March. Ellie, Vicky and Robbie break down the often-complicated game of rugby to answer the questions new fans to the game want to know.

On the launch of the series Ellie Boatman says: “I’m excited to be doing the Outside Centre podcast with Robbie and Vicky in a huge year for women’s rugby with the run up to the 2025 World Cup. We can’t wait to get started and chat about some exciting match ups in the upcoming W6N.”

Vicky Fleetwood adds: “The Six Nations has a special place in my heart, and I always loved playing in it. I’m now super excited to be on the other side and chatting about everything to do with the tournament, alongside Robbie and Ellie over the next few weeks.”

Presenter Robbie James commented: “The thing I’m most excited about is debugging the myth that Rugby is too complicated, or only for people who attend private school. We want to simplify Rugby and bring in new people to the sport, whilst still peering behind the curtain with Vicky & Ellie.

“I’ll be in dreamworld listening to these two brilliant women, and there’s so much for us to look forward to with the Olympics coming up, as well as the Rugby World Cup coming to England in 2025.”

The podcast is being produced by Listening Dog Media, its Production Director Callum Marks said: “Podcasts are an excellent way for fans to consume content from their favourite sports, but they can also be the perfect guide for anyone looking to learn more about them. We’re exciting to be working with Ellie, Vicky & Robbie on this new series with the backdrop of the Women’s Six Nations.”

Outside Centre is available on most podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music.
