Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks didn’t hold back their joy at winning in the podcast category at last night’s TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House in London.
The annual TRIC Awards celebrate talent across TV, radio and online media. Categories span traditional broadcast as well as streaming and podcasts, reflecting the evolving media landscape.
Hosted by TRIC President Dan Walker, the event welcomed close to 1,000 guests and featured a performance by Magic Radio’s Lemar.
In the podcast category, Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks were among the nominees for their Staying Relevant podcast.
Nominated along with Begin Again with Davina McCall, Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed, and That Peter Crouch Podcast, it was best friends Sam and Pete who picked up the award for Staying Relevant.
The pair shared their joy at the win in a video on Instagram, with Sam being barely able to control his excitement. It was captioned with the message: “POV: you always dreamed of starting a podcast together and winning a podcast awards, then that dream finally comes true.”
