The Martin Talk Show has officially set a new world record for the most guests featured in a single podcast episode.
Martin Colton along with his co-host Leo Shepherd achieved 140 guests in the recording session at The Victoria Hall Theatre in Harlow on Saturday, 25 January.
The previous record stood at 137 guests, but the new record was achieved during the recording of the episode titled “World Record Podcast – 140 Guests in One Episode – Did We Do It?”
There was a reason behind the record-breaking attempt, as Martin explains: “Last year, I experienced the profound loss of two dear friends.
“During this difficult time, I had the privilege of witnessing the incredible love, care, and support offered by St Clare Hospice. Their compassionate work touched not only my friends in their final days but also their families, providing comfort and strength when it was needed most.
“Inspired by this experience, I’ve decided to take action in their honour. In memory of my friends, I organised this fundraising event to reflect the values they both cherished. One’s boundless enthusiasm for charity fundraising and the other’s unwavering sense of community have inspired me to bring people together in a unique and ambitious way.
“This record-breaking event wasn’t just about making history – it was about ensuring that more people in our community can access the exceptional care that St Clare Hospice provides.
“The hospice is a local charity that supports adults living with life-limiting illnesses, those facing the end of life, and families coping with grief. Despite the incredible work they do, they rely heavily on donations to continue their mission.”
This special episode welcomed guests from various backgrounds, including theatre, music, dance, film and comedy. Each of them brought their own unique perspective, energy, and passion to the conversation.
It wasn’t just about setting a record; it was about giving a platform to artists and creatives to amplify their voices in a way that’s never been done before.
As well as being a world breaking event, £900 was raised for the charity.
Since its start, The Martin Talk Show has been about pushing boundaries and exploring the creative world in ways that spark inspiration.
