This Is History podcast with Dan Jones returns for season six

Sony Music Entertainment’s hit podcast This is History, hosted by the New York Times best-selling author and historian Dan Jones is returning for a new series.

Season six is about the rise of one of England’s most formidable kings, Edward III, who is bold, ambitious and a dazzling warrior.

It’s just what England needs. But disaster soon looms. There’s something on its way that no King could contend with. The Black Death is coming, and Europe will never be the same again.

First, Edward has to deal with some serious issues as he’s only king in name. The true power belongs to Queen Isabella and her tyrannical lover, who deposed and murdered Edward’s father. With a fierce thirst for revenge and power, Edward orchestrates a daring castle heist to reclaim the throne.

But the story doesn’t end there. Edward III’s ambition will soon set off the bloody conflict that we know today as the Hundred Years’ War.

Season six of This Is History covers one of the most turbulent eras of the Middle Ages. It launches on Tuesday 26 November.
