TV show Midsomer Murders to get its own official podcast

The much-loved TV show, Midsomer Murders is to get its own companion podcast hosted by star of Escape to the Country and BBC Radio 2, Nicki Chapman.

Watched in more than 200 territories worldwide, and currently in post-production for its twenty fourth series, this cult-viewing murder mystery programme even has its very own 24/7 dedicated TV channel in the USA.

The snappy banter between Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby and his sidekick Sergeant, all set in the famously idyllic (and yet statistically) perilous English village in fictional Midsomer County, Midsomer Murders is a ratings winner in Germany, France, USA, Australia, and Japan.

Midsomer Murders Mayhem will act as a companion to a number of fan-favourite episodes, while finally attempting to answer the question: just what is it that makes Midsomer such a dangerous place to live?

The podcast will feature behind the scenes cast revelations, a superfan quiz hosted by comedian, actress an BBC Radio Scotland host, Ashley Storrie and contributions into each case from real life detectives and pathologists. Cheese as a murder weapon may well feature!

Episode one of the podcast Midsomer Murders Mayhem takes us right back to where it all began; season one, episode one, The Killings at Badgers Drift.

Produced by Storyhunter for All3Media, Midsomer Murders Mayhem launches on all podcast platforms and on the official Midsomer Murders YouTube channel on Thursday 28 March.
