Wondery is launching a brand-new series of the award-winning podcast How Do You Cope? hosted by comedian and broadcaster John Robins.
The podcast, previously commissioned by the BBC, sees Robins meet well known special guests to talk about how they have overcome the mental and physical hurdles, in navigating their daily lives.
Each week, the guests share their deeply personal stories with John, who himself has opened up about the challenges he has faced.
Whether discussing grief, anxiety or the everyday stresses of modern life, How Do You Cope? offers insights and relatable stories to remind listeners that they’re not alone in their struggles. The podcast creates a supportive space for listeners to learn, laugh and find solace in the shared human experience.
Guests confirmed for the first series include Joe Wicks, Amanda Knox, Justin Hawkins and Chris McCausland.
John Robins commented: “I’m really looking forward to speaking to such incredible people about the lessons they’ve learned and the practical tools they use to get through life, whether it be recovery from addiction, mental health conditions, disability or sudden trauma.
“The world of wellness, especially online, can sometimes be a chaotic mix of terminology and memes.
“It’s fantastic to have the time to speak to people at length and not feel the pressure of providing wisdom in a thirty second clip.
“Understanding ourselves isn’t always pretty, it doesn’t always paint us in a positive light, and I’m incredibly grateful for the honesty, candour and time my guests have shared with our listeners.”
Chris Baughen, Head of Podcasts, Wondery UK, said: “John Robins is the perfect host for this inspiring, enlightening and entertaining series exploring relatable stories around mental and physical wellbeing in everyday life.
“John’s warmth, humour and empathy brings out the best in his guests as they delve deep into their personal challenges, and how they overcame them.”
How Do You Cope? launches on Wondery+ on 17 February, with a bonus episode publishing on 20 February. The series launches on all other podcast services on 24 February, with the bonus episode available on 27 February. Episodes publish weekly.
