Dirty Mother Pukka podcast returns after two-and-a-half-year break

Dirty Mother Pukka, the podcast from Heart presenter, journalist and author Anna Whitehouse – aka Mother Pukka – returns for its third season after a two-and-a-half-year break and promises to be as revealing and entertaining as ever.

Featuring well known celebrity names each week, Heart’s Dirty Mother Pukka is where guests go to share their secrets and air their dirty laundry.

Anna and co-host Polly Hazlewood allow each guest to share openly about highs and lows from throughout their lives. Topics covered range from political, emotional and financial discussions to parental, feminist and topical issues. Each episode will close with an excerpt from Jilly Cooper’s written works, in a bedtime story just for mums…and anyone with a penchant for raunchy literature.

Anna said: “I got told by a senior MP at a parliamentary round table that I might get further if I dressed a little more professionally. I was in a smart, colourful jumpsuit. It was then I wondered why women need to look a certain way to be heard or need to hide who they are to be taken seriously. Dirty Mother Pukka is a podcast to show the full 360-degrees of women.

“Women who stand up in the House of Commons and love a Jilly Cooper novel. Women who are tired of being compartmentalised and boxed up. Think feminism with a side of Mills & Boon filth. Think Stella Creasey talking maternity rights in government alongside her first snog. Think Myleene Klass talking about her painfully honest W miscarriage documentary alongside ‘bonkers’ kid’s party invites that have mandatory gift lists.

“This is where women turn up, show up and be themselves. Every week we will be removing shame from going to sex clubs, divorcing, pole dancing and living outside of the patriarchal box.

Polly and I can’t wait for our listeners to join in and get down and dirty.”

Dirty Mother Pukka is available on Global Player and other podcast platforms each Thursday from 24 February.
