Award winning comedian, actor and now podcaster Phil Nichol, who recently appeared in Boy George’s ground-breaking musical Taboo at the London Palladium and originated the West End role of Loco Chanelle /Hugo in Everyone’s Talking About Jamie has announced several new projects in the coming months.
The second season of Phil’s popular podcast Songs In The Key Of Laugh with musician David Tims is launched today (16 March), with guest Adam Buxton. Upcoming guests for this season include Isy Suttie and Kunt and the Gang with more to be announced.
The podcast revolves around the theme of comedy songs, why they are great, and how ubiquitous they are without us realising. They reminisce about classic comedy songs, discuss the music of the day and interview a musical comedian for a chat about their insights into songwriting. Season One included Nick Helm, Harry Hill, Rich Hall, Tim Minhchin, Ria Lina and more.
His critically acclaimed show Cray Cray Cabaret is also back – this time the London Comedy Store in the West End.
Phil has appeared on the new TV series of Agatha Raisin, also, Corky and the Juice Pigs (the Canadian comedy outfit that Phil was a member of) has been chosen for the British Library Unlocking Our Sound Heritage Project which will include their Live at the Purcell Rooms recording from 1993. He is also developing and producing four new scripts for his Comedians Theatre Company which started 16 years ago.
