Never Have I Ever, a new podcast from Joel Dommett and Hannah Cooper-Dommett, exists because the married couple (in their own words) lead a fairly boring life.
Their story goes: man and woman meet, man and woman marry in an idyllic beach wedding, man and woman are plunged into a global pandemic six months into newlywed life.
Since then, like a lot of people, they’ve become homebodies…but that’s set to change with their new podcast as they act on unusual suggestions from listeners and each other, to experience something they’ve never done before.
Be it smashing out their feelings in a rage room, taking (or posing for) a life-drawing class or staying in a haunted house for the night, Joel and Hannah are broadening their horizons and recording it for listeners’ entertainment.
Joel said: ‘’After being stuck inside during the pandemic, myself and Hannah wanted to consciously spend the next few years doing as many different, weird, new things we could. So we set ourselves a task of doing something new together every week. Then we thought we would make it into a podcast so we don’t just stop doing it after 3 weeks.
“Hannah and I are finally doing a bloody podcast! It’s what the world needs. I really love working with my wife, whether it’s on a podcast or changing the bedsheets. She very often says things that make me laugh for hours and now there will be recorded evidence. I’m excited/petrified to see what listeners suggest we do.’’
Hannah added: “I’m not really sure what we’ve signed up for, which is usually the case when it’s one of Joel’s “bright ideas’’. I’m excited to be pushed out of our comfort zones…or at least out of our tracksuit bottoms and explore all the weird and wonderful activities thrown at us which we have never ever done before. To clarify this is not a drinking game, but I’m quite sure after a couple of hours recording with Joel Dommett aka Husband, I’ll definitely be needing a drink.”
Comedian, actor, author and presenter Joel Dommett has become a regular face on TV as host of various programmes including ITV’s The Masked Singer and I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp. Hannah Cooper-Dommett is a model and presenter. She co-hosted ITV’s lockdown series ‘At Home with Joel Dommett’ alongside her husband. She’s also fronted high-profile commercial campaigns for many brands, has featured in editorial fashion and beauty spreads for print and online publications and is an online fashion contributor for Marie Claire.
Never Have I Ever with Joel and Hannah will be available every Monday from 4 April on Global Player and other podcast platforms.
