The Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival returns in October with its most ambitious yet.
It will feature fifteen days of live podcast shows across London, Melbourne, and New York City for the first time.
Originally launched in London, the festival will take place in Melbourne from 3–5 October at Stupid Old Studios, featuring popular shows like TOFOP, Do Go On, and Plumbing the Death Star alongside late-night hangouts and special guests.
From 7–9 October, the festival makes its US debut in New York City at Caveat in Lower Manhattan, with headliners including What Went Wrong, Go Touch Grass, and The Puzzler with AJ Jacobs, promising sharp, concept-driven comedy and East Coast energy.
The London festival runs from 12–19 October with its hub at The Bedford in Balham and additional shows at The Clapham Grand. Headliners include Trusty Hogs, Clinton Baptiste’s Paranormal Podcast, Lateral with Tom Scott, and BudPod, alongside fan favourites and podcast debuts.
The festival’s “Listen Up” stage also returns in London to showcase new and indie podcasters, offering them full festival perks and financial support.
Festival Director Giles Gear said: “Cheerful Earful began as a four-day run of live shows and has since grown into a year-round celebration of funny podcasts.
“From our inaugural Golden Lobes Podcast Awards in May to the Festival’s fourth birthday, it’s been amazing to see audiences, creators, and partners connecting in ways that go far beyond the stage.”
Adelicious returns as Headline Sponsor this year. CEO Andrew Goldsmith said: “We’ve backed Cheerful Earful since day one and it’s still one of our favourite moments in the podcast calendar. The festival always delivers on laughs, line-ups, and a brilliant sense of community.”
