Joe Thomas and James Buckley, stars of The Inbetweeners, have announced their new podcast, Joe and James Fact Up.
Produced by Audio Always, the podcast arrives a decade after Thomas and Buckley became comedy icons for their roles as Jay and Simon on The Inbetweeners, the sitcom that remains a touchstone of British comedy.
Last year, they reunited for a Comic Relief sketch featuring Oasis, which sparked widespread fan excitement. Now the pair are returning with a project that lets listeners hear their genuine friendship and comedic chemistry in a new setting.
Each week, the pair will share a fact that has caught their attention, unpack it, and debate it, often straying into completely unrelated topics.
They’ll ask questions such as whether all crisps expire on a Saturday or if lift close buttons actually work. The format is to explore life’s small mysteries with the fun that made Jay and Simon household names.
Thomas said: “I’ve always loved the facts you can pull out anywhere that get people talking, so debunking them is going to be pretty fun, especially when I get to do it with one of my good mates. Things do get pretty weird from my end, so who knows where this podcast journey will lead to.”
Buckley added: “I’ve always loved working with Joe, so I’m excited to just spend time with him speaking nonsense. It’s basically what we do already, but with a mic attached. So let’s see how well that turns out.”
Joe and James Fact Up launches on Tuesday 23 September on all podcast platforms.
