Sony Music Podcast Academy 2025 opens for applications in London

Applications are now open for the Sony Music Podcast Academy 2025, a six-week in-person training programme.

The course is designed to equip emerging creators with the skills, knowledge and connections to succeed in podcasting.

Running from 6 October this year, the Academy will be based at Sony Music’s Podcast Headquarters in London, WC1.

Participants must be available to attend in person on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, including a mandatory selection morning.

The initiative is open to 18–30-year-olds who are London-based and passionate about digital storytelling. No previous podcasting experience is required, but applicants should have the ambition to break into the industry and bring new voices and perspectives to the medium.

Across six weeks, attendees will gain access to industry-standard training, professional equipment and guidance from Sony’s podcast team.

The programme is delivered in partnership with Fran Plowright’s Meet a Mentor scheme and other industry partners, providing valuable networking opportunities and pathways into professional audio careers.

Sony Music says the programme will be experiential and interactive, combining hands-on learning with introductions to the people and organisations shaping today’s podcast landscape.

Applications are now open, with details and forms available here.
