Italy’s Podcasting Festival is back to mark its tenth edition, with nationwide events, online broadcasts, live podcasts, and networking opportunities.
Under the artistic direction of Ester Memeo, the 2025 event aims to strengthen the podcasting community and highlight its role in cultural and social innovation.
The journey begins today, 20 September with events across Italy, from Trieste to Palermo, running until 2 October. The line-up includes workshops, meetings, and performances exploring how podcasting influences culture, education, politics, science, current affairs, and local traditions.
On 30 September, International Podcast Day, the Festival expands worldwide with a free online event.
Highlights include James Cridland of Podnews on future trends, Steven Goldstein on the pace of media change, and Arthur Larrey of Audion on audio-video integration.
The European Commission’s podcast EU Finance will also be spotlighted, alongside the presentation of a NielsenIQ study for Audible on podcast listening in Italy. Sessions will also focus on SEO, monetisation, audio quality, cross-media, and sound design.
The heart of the Festival will be in Milan at Cascina Triulza, MIND District, on 3 and 4 October. The first day features Emerging Podcasts 2025, networking at AperiPodcast, and live shows such as Enclave, Operazione Betulla, and Sangue Loro, as well as investigative productions from 24Ore Podcast.
On 4 October, the Podcast Summit will cover social impact, civic engagement, artificial intelligence, and geo-localised storytelling.
Sponsors include Acast, Audible, Audion, Yamaha Music Europe, and Legacoop, alongside media partners such as Radio 24, Spotify, EMERGENCY, and Canva.
Awards will also be presented, including the Media Key Award for Best Emerging Podcast, the POD24 Award for Best Independent Investigative Podcast, and the Active Powered Award for Best Business and Marketing Podcast.
