New podcast explores billion-dollar world of tribute bands

Tribute Band Sessions is a new weekly series shining a light on the booming world of tribute bands.

From Pantheon Podcasts, the podcast is hosted by Philadelphia native and entertainment veteran Mike Gendler.

The series delves into the artistry, business, and culture of tribute acts, which is a thriving live music sector worth billions worldwide.

Each episode features interviews with top performers, industry insiders, and celebrity co-hosts, giving listeners a front-row seat to one of music’s most fascinating corners.

Pantheon’s latest project explores how tribute acts fill arenas like Red Rocks and continue the legacies of artists who inspire millions.

From Queen and ABBA tributes to local legends, the series uncovers what drives musicians to perform as their idols and why fans can’t get enough.

Gendler, a Temple University graduate, built EBE Events & Entertainment into the US East Coast’s largest private events company over twenty-four years, producing shows for clients including Taylor Swift, Dave Grohl, the NFL, and Microsoft. After selling the business last year, he turned his attention to podcasting and media production.

“Tribute bands are real artists with extraordinary talent,” says Gendler. “This show celebrates their craft and reveals the stories behind the music.”

Tribute Band Sessions will be available weekly on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and all major platforms from 15 October.
