A new creative summit bringing together the worlds of music, podcasting and content creation is set for Adare, Co. Limerick this November.
Taking place at The Woodlands Hotel & Spa on 12 and 13 November, Sound.Waves., supported by Limerick.ie, will run over two days spotlighting Adare as a destination for creativity, innovation and future-facing talent – all with an eye on the 2027 Ryder Cup.
The event will gather industry leaders, artists and creators for a series of keynotes, panels, live sessions and one-to-one meetings exploring how ideas travel from concept to audience, and how creators can build sustainable careers in a digital world.
Topics will range from AI’s growing role in the industry to the importance of intellectual property and global marketing for artists and podcasters.
Among the major companies and organisations attending are Patreon, Spotify, BBC Sounds, The 2 Johnnies, RTE, GoLoud, Sky Sports Golf, Golf Digest, CMU, Circulate, Kite Entertainment, Universal Music, Sony Music, NK Management, IMRO, IRMA and RAAP.
International executives will also discuss the future of A&R and what it takes to break through in a crowded creative landscape.
Founded by Alexis Vokos, Willie Ryan and Jim Lawless, and joined by Joe Clarke and Colm Hanley, Sound.Waves. builds on the legacy of Music Cork, the respected boutique music industry event that last ran in 2019.
The new summit is designed as an international-facing gathering rooted in Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition.
Event organiser Colm Hanley said: “Both music and podcasting are built on storytelling, audience connection and the challenge of standing out in a crowded digital world.
“The programme we’ve developed brings those sectors together to share ideas, strategies and spark new collaboration about the future of creative business.
“The addition of the All Ireland Podcast Awards adds another exciting element to this new annual event.”
Donn O’Sullivan, Head of Marketing and Communications at Limerick.ie, added: “Podcasts and audio content have a unique power to connect, inspire and share our ‘Different Kind of Energy’ with audiences around the world.
“Through Sound.Waves., we’re turning up the volume on Limerick’s voice and showcasing the county as a place where ideas, talent and opportunity meet.”
The summit will culminate in the inaugural All Ireland Podcast Awards on Thursday, 13 November, celebrating Ireland’s podcasting talent across categories including Current Affairs & Politics, True Crime, Sport and Entertainment.
With BBC Sounds commissioner Dylan Haskins as Head Judge, the awards will honour the creativity and innovation driving Ireland’s fast-growing audio scene.
