Former Ireland international Conor Murray is teaming up with BBC Sport NI’s Gavin Andrews is to host a new rugby podcast, The Ireland Rugby Social.
With 125 caps for Ireland and a decorated career including five Six Nations titles and two Grand Slams, Murray brings first-hand experience and insight to every episode.
Each week, Murray and Andrews will sit down with players, coaches, and rugby insiders to unpack the biggest stories in the sport.
The first episode features former Ireland and Ulster captain Rory Best, who will recount the inside story of Ireland’s rematch against New Zealand at Soldier Field, Chicago, following their historic win over the All Blacks in 2016.
Speaking about the show, Murray said: “Rugby has been such a big part of my life for so long, so I think staying connected to it is a good idea.
“I can give some insight, get some guests with some interesting stories – stories you maybe haven’t heard before. I know the guests we have will be able to relax and tell us their true thoughts and stories.”
Gavin Andrews added: “Rugby fans, sport fans, and anyone who loves a good podcast are in for a real treat. Conor’s a sporting legend and brings unbelievable depth of knowledge, respect, and kudos from within the game.
“We’ll be analysing big talking points with top players and coaches, sharing anecdotes and personal stories about how the game has changed lives across Ireland.”
The Ireland Rugby Social will be available from Tuesday 28 October on BBC Sounds and all major podcast platforms.
