The winners of the APAs 2025 have been announced this evening.
Held at the BFI on London’s South Bank, the gala event brought together podcasters, audio creators and industry leaders.
Broadcaster and Mainstream founder Remel London hosted the evening that highlighted the scale and ambition of UK podcasting this year.
The awards are organised by AudioUK and sponsored by Audible.
A wide mix of creators were recognised across categories covering podcasts, audiobooks, sound design, radio and presenting, with wins reflecting both established names and new voices making an impact in the sector.
The team at Fix Radio behind The Bald Builders Breakfast secured gold in the Entertainment category, while newcomers Becky and Ben Saer were honoured in Ensemble Cast and Presenting Team for their series Becky and Ben’s Fertility Spotlight.
Penny4 won the Drama and Fiction award for the supernatural thriller Up in Smoke and We Are Grape took home Music for Pete Tong’s Essential History Of Dance.
Three new categories were introduced this year. Wajid Yaseen and Steve Urquhart of Modus Arts collected the History award for Tape Letters Scotland, which highlights the practice of sending cassette tape messages among Pakistanis who migrated to the UK between 1960 and 1980.
RAW and Audible won True Crime for Cursed, presented by Femi Oke, who also received gold for Presenter and Host.
The QueerAF podcast and Trans+ History Week were recognised with the Changemaker Award for a six-part series of mini-documentaries exploring gender-diverse communities throughout history.
New talent was also celebrated with Scout Tzofiya Bolton of the Prison Radio Association named New Voice and Mia Thornton of BBC Sounds Audio Lab and Reform Radio winning New Producer.
Bella Soames of DMG Media was announced as Producer of the Year, the Prison Radio Association was crowned Production Company of the Year and Fix Radio secured Publisher and Network of the Year.
The AudioUK Award went to the Crossed Wires Festival for its contribution to championing the UK podcast and audio industry.
In her speech, AudioUK CEO Chloe Straw praised the creators and teams driving innovation across the sector, saying the APAs demonstrate the breadth of audio talent in the UK and the importance of celebrating both independent voices and major organisations.
She thanked sponsors, partners and the team behind the event and encouraged creators to seize the opportunities emerging across the industry.
