Spotify is seeing more fashion creators turn to podcasting as audiences seek deeper cultural discussion alongside visual content.
On Tuesday, Spotify hosted On Air, In Style in New York City, a live podcast recording designed to bring fashion and culture creators further into the podcast space.
The event centred on a fireside conversation between Summer House’s Mia Calabrese and creator Mina Le, known for High Brow, recorded for release as a special episode on Spotify later this week.
Mina Le’s involvement reflects a wider shift in how fashion content is being produced and consumed. Creators who built audiences through video and social platforms are now using podcasts to explore cultural analysis, industry context and commentary in more depth, moving beyond traditional trend-focused coverage.
Spotify’s own data points to growing demand for this type of content. Fashion podcast listenership in the United States increased by 23% year on year last year, while streams rose by 68%.
The platform has also seen rising search interest in recent months, with terms including fashion week up 93%, beauty up 86%, and runway up 80%.
These increases have coincided with the lead-up to the Met Gala and the wider fashion season, suggesting that audiences are turning to podcasts to complement major cultural moments and events.
Spotify says creators such as Mina Le are bringing highly engaged digital audiences into podcasting, helping to expand how fashion is discussed across both audio and video formats.
The move highlights how podcasting is becoming a space not just for entertainment, but for more detailed cultural conversation within specialist industries.
