Greg James and Alice Levine launch weekly podcast Bad Chat

Greg James and Alice Levine are launching a new weekly podcast focused on everyday anxieties and minor frustrations.

Bad Chat will release its first episode on 7 May, with new episodes arriving every Thursday. The show invites listeners to share their weekly experiences, from small irritations to more personal dilemmas, which Greg and Alice will discuss together.

The podcast centres on what the pair describe as the “best-worst” parts of the week. It will cover topics including shame spirals, existential concerns and minor grievances, aiming to reflect the thoughts and habits of people who tend to overthink everyday situations.

Listeners are encouraged to contribute directly to the programme. Submissions can be sent by email, WhatsApp or voicemail, with the hosts responding and expanding on selected messages during each episode.

Greg and Alice first worked together on radio and have maintained a professional and personal friendship for 13 years. Alongside their broadcasting work, they have collaborated on projects including the Crossed Wires podcast festival.

Produced by Persephonica and part of the Acast Creator Network, the new show marks the first time Greg and Alice have launched a podcast together as co-hosts, building on their existing shared experience in radio and live podcast events.

Greg James said: “It’s been about five months since I last launched a podcast and honestly, I was getting jittery. It seems absurd that Alice and I haven’t done a show together until now and I’m hoping it wasn’t for good reason. Let’s see.”

Alice Levine added:”It felt like Greg really needed a win, so I said I’d do a show with him. He couldn’t believe it, you should have seen his little face. He called me a ‘sweet angel sent from heaven’ and I just sobbed.”

Persephonica CEO, Dino Sofos, commented: “We pride ourselves on working with the world’s biggest talent so it’s nice to take a risk once in a while.”
