BBC Radio Scotland’s hit podcast Sacked in the Morning returns for new series

Sacked in the Morning, the BBC podcast which gets the lowdown on the lives and times of football managers, is back for a new series.

BBC Radio Scotland’s podcast kicks off its second run on BBC Sounds on Wednesday 16 March after scoring a success with its opening series.

Since its debut in October, the podcast has become one of BBC Radio Scotland’s top on-demand titles on BBC Sounds.

Fronted by presenter Amy Irons with ex-Hearts and Scotland manager, Craig Levein, the series shed a light on the ups and downs of life in the dug-out.

Guests who shared their insights in the first series were Tony Pulis, Ian Holloway, Harry Redknapp, Dick Campbell, Paul Lambert, Mixu Paatelainen, Terry Butcher, Phil Brown, David Robertson, Jimmy Nicholl, Sam Allardyce.

Those lined up for the new series include Mick McCarthy, Mark Warburton, Slaven Bilic, Brad Friedel, Owen Coyle and more.

Amy said: “After a memorable first season I am delighted Sacked in the Morning is back! To sit alongside Craig and hear his tales from this time as a manager as well as those from our top tier guests has truly been a fascinating experience. Craig added: “I am delighted that we are back, the last series was great fun. Amy and James the producer are consummate professionals and great to work alongside. Hopefully the listeners will enjoy this series as much as the last. Join us “early doors” as we get going this month.”
