BCfm podcast tackles key women’s health issues with experts

Bristol community radio station BCfm has launched a new podcast series offering practical, jargon-free advice on important women’s health topics.

Real Women Talk Health is produced in partnership with the  NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire ICB.

The six-part series, hosted by award-winning broadcaster Sherrie Eugene-Hart, features a different subject in each episode including menopause, periods, cervical screening, contraception, pelvic health and sexual health.

The podcast brings together conversations, expert interviews, and guidance from local specialists, aiming to support women and those who care for them with accessible and reliable information. It also provides signposting to relevant services across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.

Sherrie Eugene-Hart said: “Whether you’re navigating menopausal changes or simply checking your cervical health, Real Women Talk Health is here to demystify the facts and point you towards practical, local help.”

NHS women’s health specialist Dr Katherine Kearley-Shiers praised the podcast’s approach, saying: “By combining lived experience with expert advice and local signposting, Real Women Talk Health offers an innovative model for delivering public health information in a way that really resonates.”

The podcast is available on major platforms, the BCfm website and the NHS Well Aware website, a local public directory for health and wellbeing services, self-care tools and local community support.
