The frank talking grief podcast, Dead Parent Club fronted by hosts Kat Hooker and Emma Jones, is back for its third series.
Produced by This is Distorted, the podcast’s return coincides with Father’s Day – a challenging day for many who have lost a parent or parent figure.
Talking about grief and death is still considered a taboo subject in our society, up to 7% of UK children will lose a parent before the age of 16 and yet there are limited relatable resources available to them. Dead Parent Club doesn’t shy away from discussing the full range of emotions and complexities of dealing with grief.
The latest series features chats with guests including Alex Brooker, Kimberly Hart-Simpson, Shaughna Phillips and grief experts to help listeners navigate their new normal.
Kat Hooker said: “This is a difficult time for people who have lost their father or father- figure. We hope that the podcast will offer some comfort as they approach Father’s Day this year.”
Emma Jones added: “The Dead Parent Club podcast is important all year round, but especially at dates that could be triggering for those who’ve lost loved ones. It allows listeners to explore their own feelings and realise that they’re not alone.”
The Dead Parent Club podcast first episode of series three is available from Friday 17 June on all good podcast platforms.
