Elizabeth Day Joins Sony Music Entertainment’s podcast network
One of the UK’s most successful podcasts, How To Fail with Elizabeth Day is joining Sony Music Entertainment’s podcast network.
The weekly series, hosted by author and podcaster Elizabeth Day, has published over 200 episodes and reached more than 45 million downloads since 2018.
A pioneer in UK podcasting, Elizabeth revolutionised the interview format by celebrating all the things that haven’t gone right. Guests who have been on the podcast include Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Stanley Tucci, Gloria Steinem, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Andrew Scott and Bernadine Evaristo.
Starting from January 2024, Sony Music Entertainment will exclusively distribute How To Fail with Elizabeth Day. Through the partnership, SME will also introduce a strong subscription offering with Apple Podcasts, giving listeners more of Elizabeth by expanding the How to Fail brand with an increased presence across social media and YouTube.
Elizabeth will join Sony Music Entertainment at IAB UK’s Podcast Upfronts on Thursday 19 October as part of its presentation highlighting top talent and shows across its global network.
“I’m delighted to be joining the team at Sony Music. They already have such an impressive podcast roster, and it feels like a great new home for How To Fail”, Elizabeth says. “I’ve been so impressed by their expertise, enthusiasm and kindness – as well as their longstanding belief in the podcast.”
“It’s been the privilege of my life to grow How To Fail over the last five years and now I’m excited to embark on this new phase of evolution. I can promise every single How To Fail fan that this will still be the place where vulnerability can be shared, where resilience can be celebrated and where failure is simply an opportunity to ask a new question.”
Steve Ackerman, EVP, Co-Head of Global Podcasts at Sony Music Entertainment adds: “Elizabeth Day has built How to Fail into a powerhouse podcast whose audience continues to grow each year. We are thrilled for this premium show to be joining our global network and look forward to working with Elizabeth to create even more compelling content for her loyal listeners.”
