The Financial Times has launched a six-part podcast series, The Wolf-Krugman Exchange, with two expert voices in global economics.
Martin Wolf, the FT’s chief economics commentator, joins Nobel Prize-winning economist and professor Paul Krugman to explore how the post-World War II economic system is breaking down, and what might replace it.
The series, part of The Economics Show podcast, focuses on the impact of Donald Trump’s 2024 return to the US presidency and the wider political and technological forces now shaping the world economy.
Across the six episodes, Wolf and Krugman explore themes including China’s rising power, the role of artificial intelligence, and prospects for Europe’s economies.
“We are living in a moment of global upheaval,” said Wolf. “In these conversations, Paul and I aim to explore where this revolution came from and what the future might look like.”
The first episode is out now and focuses on declining trust in US political and financial institutions, the weakening of trade agreements, and growing uncertainty in American leadership.
New episodes will be released weekly until early July and available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, the FT’s YouTube channel, or wherever you get your podcasts.
