Less Radical podcast launches in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
With Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming in October, Dr Stacy Wentworth has launched her new podcast Less Radical.
The six-part series tells the story of Dr Fisher, an unlikely hero from Pittsburgh who overcame antisemitic barriers to enter medical school and made revolutionary breakthroughs in cancer treatment. However, his success came with a tragic cost: a public, performative Congressional hearing that unfairly destroyed his reputation and haunted him until his death.
Host Dr Wentworth will take listeners into operating rooms, the halls of Congress, and research labs to explore Fisher’s profound impact on breast cancer patients worldwide.
Less Radical arrives at a time when the stories behind medical advancements need to be shared and understood. Dr Fisher’s legacy serves as a reminder of the scientific courage and personal sacrifices made to improve cancer treatments. His story will resonate with survivors, patients, families, and healthcare professionals alike.
Dr Stacy Wentworth is an award-winning physician, author, and cancer survivorship advocate. She has worked in private practice and academic healthcare settings as a radiation oncologist and member of cancer centre leadership teams.
She has also built survivorship programmes in highly diverse settings from small rural hospitals to NCI designated comprehensive cancer centres.
Dr Wentworth says: “If you or someone you know has had breast cancer, Bernie is a part of your story – and you’re a part of his.”
Less Radical launches today, Wednesday 25 September.
