The National Archives’ podcast, On the Record, is back with a new three-part series exploring the history of 1920s Britain.
From stories of social and political change to fashion and nightlife, step into the world of 1920s Britain and experience what life was really like, beyond the ‘Roaring Twenties’.
In the first episode, listeners can expect to hear from historian, Kate Williams, about the contradictions and shifting values of the 1920s. Then, we will speak to our 1920s Specialist, Lisa Berry-Waite, who will introduce listeners to the political landscape of the era.
Episode one will be released on 14 April.
The podcast ties in with the release of the 1921 Census of England and Wales in January 2022, and the National Archives’ 20sPeople programme, which explores and shares stories connecting the people of the 1920s with those in the 2020s.
