New podcast uncovers shocking allegations in adult entertainment world
The Bunny Trap is a new 10-part investigative series that follows a multi-year inquiry into troubling allegations within the glamour industry.
Hosted by investigative journalist Ellie Flynn, the podcast looks into into claims against Luis Gomez, a self-described “Playboy photographer” who is alleged to have exploited his position to abuse numerous models.
Ellie Flynn is known for her work uncovering exploitation and abuse and the podcast is the latest in Novel’s series of longform narrative podcasts.
After receiving a tip from a group of around a dozen British models, some of whom had allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of Gomez, Flynn and the Novel team set off on a deep investigation that took several years.
The result is a chilling exploration of power, manipulation, and alleged predation in a largely unregulated industry.
In addition to the investigation, the series also follows the experiences of those who came forward.
When glamour model Emilie first questions her troubling experience during a photoshoot with Luis Gomez, it sets off a chain of events that leads her to connect with other women who claim to have suffered similar abuse.
Together, they confronted Gomez to expose what they allege is a pattern of exploitation. As Flynn digs deeper, she reveals how Luis Gomez became well-known in the glamour industry and why so many models wanted to work with him, despite the growing rumours surrounding his behaviour.
The Bunny Trap follows Flynn’s investigation, from discovering the workings of the glamour industry to exploring allegations of abuse.
The series unveils a web of alleged exploitation – both sexual and financial – as well as alleged fraud and manipulation, but it is ultimately a story of courage and unity.
Ellie Flynn commented: “This investigation has been one of the most challenging and intense experiences of my career. From our very first tip-off, we knew we were stepping into a world where the stakes were incredibly high.
“Over the course of a few years, we uncovered stories that were heartbreaking and, at times, horrifying. But more than anything, this is a story about the bravery of those who came forward. The Bunny Trap is their story as much as it is ours, and I’m proud to be able to help them tell it.”
Craig Strachan, CEO of Novel, added: “The Bunny Trap is a powerful example of long-form investigative journalism, requiring immense courage from both Ellie and the women who shared their stories.
“This series is more than just a podcast – it’s a window into a hidden part of the glamour industry that too few people know about. We hope it will spark important conversations.”
The first two episodes will be available on 29 October and then each Tuesday on all major podcast platforms.
