Don’t Cross Kat is a new true crime miniseries from Wondery hosted by acclaimed Brazilian journalist and storyteller Chico Felitti.
Based on the hit Brazilian podcast A Coach, Don’t Cross Kat follows one woman’s journey to find her missing best friend who has fallen under the dangerous influence of a modern-day online guru.
The series investigates Kat Torres, an influencer who is wealthy, stunning, and unafraid to flaunt it.
Her posts about witchcraft and “alien baths” attract millions of followers, but as her audience grows, so do the dark secrets behind her fame.
When a woman sets out to find her missing friend who has fallen under Kat’s spell and relocated to Texas to become a follower, she is soon put on a collision course with the influencer herself.
For those who might already be familiar with Kat Torres and her story, this series opens up new layers to the plot that audiences have never heard before.
Chico Felitti, the journalist who first broke the story of Kat Torres’ schemes in Brazil, tells this tale of influence, control, and those who dare to fight back. He’s a two-time finalist for the Jabuti Prize, Brazil’s equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. Felitti’s work is known for its captivating storytelling and thorough investigative approach.
