Now, Then, Ten podcast new season launch

A new podcast by Facebook and Founders Forum will be championing the communities of today and tomorrow.

Hosted by Nicola Mendelsohn CBE, Facebook’s VP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Brent Hoberman, founder of Founders Forum, Now, Then, Ten explores how the world’s most influential communities come to life – from global movements to Gen Z brands.

The driving forces behind these communities – luminaries in business, technology and culture – will share the secrets of their success and reveal how they were created, the moments in history that inspired them, and what they’ll look like 10 years from now.

In each episode, guests will explore the now – the current landscape of the communities they have built, the then – a past movement or person from history who has inspired them and finally the ten – ten years from now, what do they hope their communities will look like?

Drawing from powerful networks from across the globe, Nicola and Brent will explore the value of communities in connecting people and helping businesses to thrive.

From purpose-driven organisations transforming lives to communities that channel cutting-edge technology, guests in this upcoming series will include Scott Harrison, Founder and CEO of the non-profit organization Charity: Water, Richard Curtis CBE, screenwriter producer, and co-founder of Comic Relief and Project Everyone and Andrew Bosworth, VP of Facebook Reality Labs.

The first episode features Depop’s CEO Maria Raga, who brings her unique experience of growing the hit social commerce app which is revolutionising the way Generation Z buy and sell online.

Maria shares how Depop is tapping into the 26 million environmentally focused Depop users who are aged 26 or under – and why she believes this generation is rejecting fast-fashion and consumer culture in favour of sustainability, diversity and creativity.

When asked specifically about building community-led business on the podcast, Maria says: “If you want to build a community-led business, it’s very important that it’s established somewhere in your vision, or your mission.

“It has to be something very much embroiled in the business and for us we always have this mantra of community first.”

Now, Then, Ten is available on Apple, Spotify and all major podcast platforms from Wednesday 17 February.
