Oprah podcast features exclusive interview on viral Coldplay moment

A world exclusive interview about the viral Coldplay concert clip and its impact is available from today on YouTube.

Oprah Winfrey has a new episode of The Oprah Podcast featuring Kristin Cabot, discussing the widely shared Coldplay “kiss cam” video from last summer.

The video, which showed Kristin in an embrace with her boss at a concert in Boston, quickly spread online and became one of the most viewed clips of last year with more than 300 billion views.

The attention that followed led to significant personal consequences, which form the focus of the interview.

In what is described as her only on camera interview about the incident, Kristin speaks in front of an audience in New York City about the events leading up to the concert and the aftermath.

She details the reaction to the short clip, which she says resulted in widespread judgement, online abuse and threats.

Kristin, who was Chief People Officer at Astronomer at the time, also addresses her relationship with her former boss, Andy Byron, providing context to a situation that was widely speculated about online.

She says: “There is a different version of me than what people saw on a TikTok video.”

The episode also includes contributions from audience members, who reflect on their own reactions to the viral footage and how quickly opinions were formed.

The Oprah Podcast is a weekly video series featuring conversations led by Oprah with guests on topics affecting their lives. The programme is available globally on YouTube and through podcast platforms, with this episode released today, 17 March.
