Spotify’s Megaphone is launching new tools to make it easier for publishers to maximise their revenue.
These new tools are the latest investment that let publishers provide greater value to their advertisers, while becoming more efficient in managing their podcast business.
The new features include:
Contextual targeting: Publishers can offer advertisers the ability to apply campaign targeting and exclusions based on episode-level topics. This will be available to all Megaphone publishers who are opted into the Spotify Audience Network at no additional cost.
Segment editing: This lets publishers manage their ad breaks. This new segment editing feature within the ad locator will help to remove any audio segment identified, including previously baked-in ads, and optionally replace it with a dynamic ad location – all without having to re-upload the audio file.
Bulk editing: Publishers can now edit multiple orders within the same screen. With bulk editing, they’ll be able to edit various components of their campaigns, including CPM, pacing, and targeting, without having to go into each individual campaign.
Publishers like YMH Studios, which manages a network of ten podcast shows such as Your Mom’s House, 2 Bears 1 Cave, and Bertcast, are already using Megaphone for hosting, distribution, and advertising solutions, and are seeing strong revenue results.
“The Spotify Audience Network has been such a powerfully positive supplemental tool to help us achieve industry leading fill rates of 90% and above,” said Alan Abdine, Head of Ad Revenue at YMH. “It is probably our most important tool in addition to our direct sales to maximize the monetization potential of all of our shows and inventory.”
