The Guardian’s Women’s Football Weekly podcast returns

Following the success of the England women’s football team this summer at the Women’s Euro 2022, women’s football is back for another season and so is the Guardian’s Women’s Football Weekly podcast.

The podcast returns on Tuesday 20 September, following a special preview episode last week, in support of the Women’s Super League 2022/23 returning this weekend.

Host Faye Carruthers, Guardian football writer Suzanne Wrack and special guests from the world of women’s football will be keeping up to date with every game to provide listeners with a round-up, expert analysis and opinion throughout the Women’s Super League season.

Faye Carruthers said: “I am so excited to be back hosting Women’s Football Weekly for the Guardian. The Lionesses were incredible this summer and I’m still buzzing with the excitement they generated.

“The Women’s Super League will capture that wave of energy and the anticipation ahead of this season is bigger than ever.

“I can’t wait to bring you more analysis, stories and fun with a fantastic group of women’s football experts, and I hope you’ll tune in and join us!”

Suzanne Wrack added: “The success of the Women’s Euro shows how far women’ football has come and that it is here to stay. I love championing women’s football, everything the players stand for and the day to day of the game.

“I’m really looking forward to being back and being on hand to continue providing an essential guide to the big game in podcast form, an arena the Guardian excels in.”

New episodes will be released on Tuesday’s, following the 22 matchdays of the Women’s Super League.

The podcast can be found on theguardian.com/audio and all other podcast apps including Apple, Spotify and Acast.
